Kirby vacuum repair and full rebuilds, by mail

A Kirby is built to be rebuilt. Most of them come to us with a chipped fan, worn belts or a dry transmission — a few hours on the bench, not a new $3,000 machine. Full rebuild $449, shipping both ways included.

Models we see: G3, G4, G5, G6 (G-Six), Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir, Avalir 2 and older Heritage and Legend models.

Prices include prepaid shipping both ways. The final price is confirmed after we open the machine, and nothing is repaired until you approve it.

What the price includes

  • Tune-up: new belts, new fan if it is chipped, brush roll check, motor brush check, lubrication, cleaning and a run test.
  • Drive repair: the tune-up plus the transmission repaired or replaced, parts included.
  • Full rebuild: complete teardown, new carbon motor brushes, new fan, belts and brush roll, drive cleaned and re-greased, cord and switch checked, housing cleaned and polished, run test on video.
  • Not included in the rebuild: replacing the motor itself or the whole transmission. If either is needed, we quote it before any work.
  • Prepaid shipping both ways, and a 90-day warranty on the repair.

How to ship it

The full mail-in process →

  • Send the main unit with the floor nozzle attached. Keep the hose and attachments at home unless they are part of the problem.
  • Remove the bag. Wrap the machine in plastic and pad it with at least two inches on every side — Kirbys are heavy, and a loose one breaks the box.
  • We text you the prepaid UPS label and the address after we reply to your request.

Questions

Do I have to be the original owner?

No. Kirby’s own factory rebuild is for registered owners only. We repair any Kirby, whoever owns it and wherever it was bought.

How long does it take?

7–12 days door to door. The bench work itself is one to four hours depending on the job; the rest is shipping.

Which models do you repair?

Every model from the Heritage and Legend series through G3–G6, Ultimate G, Diamond, Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir and Avalir 2. Parts for the newer models are stocked; older ones sometimes come from donor machines.

Is it worth rebuilding an old Kirby?

Usually, yes. A new Kirby sells for around $3,000, and a rebuilt one runs another ten years or more. If yours is not worth it, we tell you and you pay only the return shipping.

What if it cannot be fixed?

If you say no to the quote, the $69 deposit covers return shipping and that is all you pay.

When do I pay?

A $69 deposit when we send the prepaid label, credited toward the repair. The balance is paid once the repair is done, before it ships back.
