Rainbow E2 repair — we fix the board, not replace it

When an E2 runs only on low speed or will not start, the usual cause is a cracked thermistor on the control board. The factory route is a new board for $339–490. We replace the failed part: $299, shipping both ways included.

Models we see: E2 (E-Series, Type 12) Gold, Black, Silver and Blue; D4, D3 and SE.

Prices include prepaid shipping both ways. The final price is confirmed after we open the machine, and nothing is repaired until you approve it.

What the price includes

  • Board repair: the controller is taken out, inspected under magnification, the thermistor is replaced and suspect joints are reflowed. Both speeds are tested for 15–20 minutes before it ships.
  • Power nozzle service: belt, brush roll and bearings checked and replaced as needed, cleaned, tested on the main unit.
  • Prepaid shipping both ways, and a 90-day warranty on the repair.

How to ship it

The full mail-in process →

  • For a board or motor problem, send only the main unit (the part with the motor). Keep the water basin, hose and attachments at home — a smaller box ships cheaper and has nothing to break or leak.
  • Empty the basin and let everything dry for a day first. Water in the box ruins the box and anything next to it.
  • For a power nozzle problem, send the power nozzle — and the wand and hose too if the nozzle has no power at all.
  • We text you the prepaid UPS label and the address after we reply to your request.

Questions

Why repair the board instead of replacing it?

A new E2 controller board costs $339 from the factory service center with your old board traded in, or $490 without. In most machines only the thermistor has failed, and replacing that part is a fraction of the work. Board repair here is $299 including shipping both ways.

Which Rainbow models do you repair?

The E2 (E-Series, Type 12) in gold, black, silver and blue, plus the older D4, D3 and SE models. The board repair applies to the E2.

Are you an authorized Rainbow service center?

No. We are an independent repair shop. If your machine is still under the Rainbow factory warranty, use the warranty first.

What warranty do I get?

A 90-day warranty on the repair, covering the parts we replaced and our work.

What if the board cannot be repaired?

We quote a refurbished or a new board before doing anything. If you say no to the quote, the $69 deposit covers return shipping and that is all you pay.

When do I pay?

A $69 deposit when we send the prepaid label, credited toward the repair. The balance is paid once the repair is done, before it ships back.
